Kenny Taylor is an American filmmaker.[1]
Born and raised in Southern Oregon, Kenny Taylor moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, where he began working as an actor, stand-up comic, and screenwriter.
Taylor moved to San Francisco in 1998 and gained notoriety in 2002 as the co-creator and co-star of The Ken and Andy Show, a comedic stage play. The Ken and Andy Show had several runs, including a stint at New Conservatory Theatre Center[2] and in the 2002 San Francisco Fringe Festival.[3]
In 2003, Taylor formed illBilly productions with Andrew Bancroft. This San Francisco-based production company created many short films and several live shows. Their films include "Maximum Wage"[4] which was shown as part of the San Francisco Underground Short Film Festival in 2004,[5] and "Evolution: The Musical!",[6] which premiered at the 2008 San Francisco International Film Festival.[7]
Taylor and Bancroft were also responsible for "Late Night with God", "Lord of the Drinks"[8] and "Popcorn Anti-Theater",[9] three live shows that ran for several years in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kenny Taylor has also directed and performed with several other comedy troupes, including Killing My Lobster[10] and at Tourettes Without Regrets, a vaudevillian game show-style MC battle and poetry slam, hosted by Jamie DeWolf in Oakland.
